How it works across two homes
- One parent sets up Off it goes. Either parent can then forward school emails to the family's own address, by hand or with a Gmail or Outlook filter.
- That parent adds the other parent, grandparents or a carer by email address.
- Each evening at about 7 pm, everyone on the list gets the same email about tomorrow. If nothing is on, there's no email.
- Anyone who wants the dates on their phone can add the calendar to an iPhone, Mac or Google Calendar. It's optional.
Why it works for two households
- Everyone sees the same thing. Both homes get the same email at the same moment, so nobody's working from an old message.
- No app, no account, no password. The other parent, a grandparent or a carer just needs an email address.
- Every date can be checked. Every date, time and amount is matched to the exact words in the school's notice.
- Nothing is guessed. If a notice is unclear, gives two dates or says something has moved, you get a short question with an "Answer now" button. The date isn't added until it's answered.
- Each person controls their own email. Anyone can stop their own evening email with the link in it.
Grandparents in another time zone?
The email arrives at about 7 pm in your household's time zone. A grandparent overseas gets it at the same moment as everyone else, which is a different time where they live.
Questions
Does the other parent have to sign up?
No. They get the evening email at their own address. They don't sign up, download anything or log in. If the school emails them too, they can forward those emails to the same family address.
Can a grandparent or carer get it too?
Yes. Add anyone by email address.
Is this a co-parenting app?
No. Off it goes doesn't do custody schedules, messages between parents or records. It makes sure both homes know what's on at school tomorrow.
Does it read my inbox?
No. It only sees the emails forwarded to your family's address.
How much is it?
