What is Off it goes?

Off it goes is a service that turns school, sport and club emails into one short "what's on tomorrow" email each evening for busy families. One parent forwards the notices, and every date, time and amount is checked against the words in the notice. Anything unclear, we ask you instead of guessing.

How does Off it goes work?

Forward school, sport and club emails to your family's own Off it goes address, or set your inbox to forward them for you. We match every date, time and amount to the words in the notice. At about 7 pm each evening, everyone in the house gets a short email about tomorrow, and there's a calendar you can add to your phone if you want one. If nothing is on tomorrow, there's no email.

Which emails can I forward?

Any email a school, sports club or activity sends to parents: newsletters, excursion notes, carnival notices, term dates, training times and game schedules. We read the email itself, PDF attachments that contain text, calendar files (.ics), and screenshots or photos saved as JPG or PNG. Scanned PDFs, Word and Excel files and iPhone photos in HEIC format are kept with the notice but not read, so check those yourself. Anything we read from a picture is checked with you before it goes on your calendar.

Which schools does Off it goes work with?

Any school, sports club or activity that emails parents, wherever you are. There's nothing for the school to sign up to or install, and we never need your school app or portal password. If it arrives in your inbox, you can forward it.

Does Off it goes work with Compass, Sentral, Seesaw or other school apps?

Yes, for anything the app sends you by email. Many school apps can email notices as well as showing them in the app, so check the app's notification settings and forward those emails to your Off it goes address. A notice that only appears inside an app can't reach us.

What happens if a notice is unclear or gives two different dates?

We never guess. If a notice is unclear, gives two different days, or says something has moved, we email you a short question with an "Answer now" button. That date isn't added until you've answered, and your answer is what goes on the calendar.

Do you use AI to read my notices?

Yes. Notices are read by Claude, a model made by Anthropic, on Anthropic's servers in the United States. Claude writes out what the notice says, and our own checks then match every date, time and amount to the words in the notice. Anything that doesn't match exactly is asked, never added, and Anthropic doesn't use your notices to train its models.

Does everyone in the house need to download an app?

No. One parent sets it up, and nobody else in the house has to download anything or do anything. Everyone else just needs an email address to get the evening email. Nothing to download. No school passwords.

What do you do with my emails and my family's information?

We use the notices you forward only to build your family's calendar and evening emails, and we never sell your information or use it for advertising. Anthropic, which reads your notices, doesn't use them to train its models. Our privacy notice explains what we keep, where and for how long. Privacy questions go to privacy@offitgoes.com.

When can I start using Off it goes?

Today. Choose yearly or monthly on the sign-up page, pay by card, and set up your household straight away. Then forward your next school email.

How much does Off it goes cost?

A$99 a year, or A$9.99 a month, including GST, paid by card through Stripe. There's no free trial: if Off it goes isn't for your family, email support@offitgoes.com in the first 30 days for a full refund. Start on the sign-up page.

How do I cancel?

Any time, from your settings, which open Stripe's own pages; that's also where you change your card and get your receipts. Off it goes keeps running to the end of the period you've paid for, and nothing more is charged.

Who's behind Off it goes?

Off it goes is run by Inference Works Pty Ltd, an Australian company. It's built for families who are tired of digging through school emails to find out what's on tomorrow.

Using Off it goes

How do I forward school emails automatically from Gmail or Outlook?

Set up a filter once in Gmail or Outlook that forwards emails from your school, club or sport to your family's Off it goes address. When you set up your household, we show you how, step by step, for both. You can also forward any email by hand whenever you like.

My kids go to different schools and clubs. Does one address cover them all?

Yes. One Off it goes address covers your whole family. Forward emails from every school, club and sport to the same address, and tomorrow's plans for everyone arrive in one evening email.

Can both parents, grandparents or a carer get the evening email?

Yes. The parent who sets it up adds anyone else by email address, and they get the evening email without signing up or downloading anything. That works across two homes too: each parent gets it at their own address.

Who can send to our family's address?

Anyone who has your family's Off it goes address can send to it, the same as any email address, so keep it for your own forwarding and your inbox filters. Each address takes up to 50 emails a day, so a forwarding loop or a flood of email stops there.

Does it work in my time zone?

Yes. Off it goes works in every time zone. You choose your household's time zone when you set up, and the evening email arrives at about 7 pm in that time zone. The time zone belongs to the household, not to each person, so everyone who gets the email, including a parent in another time zone, gets it at 7 pm household time.

Which calendars does it work with?

You can add your family's dates to the calendar on an iPhone or Mac, or to Google Calendar, with one tap from the evening email. The calendar is optional: the evening email has everything you need for tomorrow on its own. Calendar apps check for changes on their own schedule, and Google Calendar can take a day or more to show one, so the evening email is always the most up to date.

Can I ask ChatGPT or Claude what's on?

Yes. Connect Off it goes to ChatGPT or Claude and ask about your family's week from that chat. It reads only what Off it goes has checked against the school's email, it can't change your calendar, and you can disconnect any time. See how to connect.

What if a date is wrong?

Every date we add comes from words we can point to in your notice, and anything we're not sure of is asked first. If a date still looks wrong, email support@offitgoes.com and we'll look at it with you. Nothing on your calendar is changed without your say.

Can I stop the emails?

Yes, any time. Every evening email has a link to stop it, and each person in the house can stop their own. You can also leave Off it goes altogether and have your household's information deleted: write to privacy@offitgoes.com.

How do I get help?

Email support@offitgoes.com and we'll get back to you. Questions about privacy go to privacy@offitgoes.com.
